Meal Plan
All About Meal Plans
Your meal plan is your all-access pass to dining on campus. Dining on campus gives you the convenience of eating what and when you want, without leaving campus and losing your parking spot, shopping, or doing dishes. We offer cuisine to fit every preference, from allergy-friendly, to plant-based.
Undergrad students who live on campus are required to have a meal plan. Students who live off campus or commute are not required to have a plan, but may find it convenient and economical. Graduate students are also not required to have a meal plan, but may find it useful to occasionally grab food on campus.
Read our latest Dining Guide for more detailed information regarding Dining on campus.
See more resources below, including meal plan comparisons and frequently asked questions.
Because your available meal plan options depend on which residence hall you live in, see our handy guide below to your meal plan options for each type of residence hall.
See our meal plan rates for Undergraduate Resident, Undergraduate Commuter, Grad Resident & Grad Commuters here. Please email us with any questions at any time.
Residences without Kitchens
If you live in a dorm or suite without a kitchen, you have several options.
- The default plan is the Hound Unlimited 5 Day Plan. The Hound Unlimited offers Unlimited meal swipes from Sunday dinner to Friday lunch, and Dining Dollars for the weekend. This plan works great if you are frequently away on weekends or prefer to dine out or at the B&G on the weekends.
- Your other option at the same price is the Hound 200 plan. The Hound 200 plan offers 200 meal swipes to be used anytime during the semester, as well as Dining Dollars.
- You do have the option to upgrade to Gold Unlimited, which is unlimited swipes 7 days a week. This plan works well if you would like the flexibility of being able to come and go in The Star and Clewell.
- Residences without a private kitchen include: Anna Nitschman, August Spangenberg House, Jo Smith, Bernhardt-Wilhelm, Rau-Hassler (all on North Campus), and Clewell Hall and Main Hall (South Campus).
- First-year students who live in The Hill will still be required to hold at minimum a Hound Unlimited meal plan.
Residences with Kitchens
If you live in a dorm or suite with a kitchen and are an undergrad student, you have other options as well:
- You will still default to the Hound Unlimited 5 Day plan.
- You have the option to choose the Silver or Bronze plan with a kitchen. The Silver plan has more meal swipes and fewer Dining Dollars than the Bronze plan, so it's best for students who prefer to eat in The Star or Clewell. The Bronze plan has more Dining Dollars and is great for a student who cooks occasionally and likes to grab food from Clewell Convenience, the B&G or DeLight's Café.
- You can always upgrade to the Hound 200 plan or the Gold Unlimited plan.
- Note that you can change meal plans until the end of the first week of classes. See our FAQ for instructions on changing your plan.
- Residences with a private kitchen include: Beck, deSchweinitz, the Hillsides, the Townhouses, Greek and Organizational Housing (all on North Campus), and The Hill (on South Campus).
- First-year students who live in The Hill will still be required to hold at minimum a Hound Unlimited meal plan.
Commuters
You are not required to have a meal plan, but you may find it convenient and economical. Here are your options:
- You can choose any of our three Commuter meal plans. They have fewer meal swipes and some Dining Dollars, too. With a commuter meal plan, you can save money on our door rate at The Star or Clewell.
- You can choose any of our Resident student meal plans if you will be on campus more frequently.
- You can add Hound Bucks, which earn you up to 20% bonus of free dollars, and they don't expire until you leave or graduate.
2024-2025 Undergrad Resident Students
All Undergraduate Resident students are required to have a meal plan and default to the Hound Unlimited 5-day Plan. The meal plan options available to you depend on what type of housing you select. See our housing information above this section regarding meal plans for Residences with/without private kitchens.
To Purchase a Meal Plan:
Students will default to Hound Unlimited and the meal plan will appear on your tuition bill as part of "Room & Board."
Instructions for changing your meal plan are listed on our FAQ page.
Tips for First Year Students:
Your default meal plan does not include meal swipes on weekends. You can use the Dining Dollars tied to your plan in every dining location including on weekends, but you will pay $8 for breakfast, $12.25 for lunch and $14.25 for dinner in The Star or Clewell. If you are a student not involved in athletics or weekend activities, consider switching your meal plan to the Hound 200, or upgrading to the Gold Unlimited. Instructions for changing your meal plan are listed on our FAQ page.
Unlimited meal plans are easy to use for those new to budgeting meal swipes - there's no limit to how many times you come in during a day/week.

2024-2025 Commuter Meal Plans
Meal plans are not required for commuters; however, we think that one of the best ways to build community on campus is to eat together! Purchasing a commuter meal plan allows you to spend time with your friends that live on campus, while saving time and enjoying the convenience of grabbing something to eat without leaving campus. We also save you the burden of making your own food and doing dishes, while accommodating various dietary needs, food allergies and more.
We offer three commuter-specific meal plans that have fewer meal swipes and Dining Dollars (because you're not on campus quite as often, usually) which give you the flexibility of dining in all of our locations. You can also opt into a Resident student meal plan if you would like. However, if you find yourself grabbing food to go from the B&G, DeLight's Café, or Clewell Convenience more often than The Star or Clewell, you may want to consider adding Hound Bucks to your account instead. See the Hound Bucks tab below for more details.
To Purchase a Commuter Meal Plan, you can use the button here, or:
- Log into AMOS using your Moravian email & NET ID password.
- Click on the Meal Plan portlet in AMOS.
- Select your preferred meal plan and it will be added to your billing for the semester

2024-2025 Grad Student Meal Plans
Welcome, Grad Students!
Whether you live on or off campus, you have the option to participate in any of our meal plans, whether they're for resident students or Commuter students. How to decide? It really depends on your time, how often you're on campus, and what your schedule is.
If you don't want to deal with cooking or dirty dishes, consider opting into one of our meal plans for Resident students. You'll be able to dine in The Star or Clewell, our all-you-care-to-eat student restaurants, or use Dining Dollars to grab a bite at The B&G, a coffee at DeLight's Café or a sandwich from one of our vending machines. Opt into our Green Container program and take food home in a reusable container that we wash for you!
Or, if you want the occasional option to dine in our student restaurants or retail locations, consider a smaller Commuter meal plan. With fewer meals and Dining Dollars to use, it'll be there when you need it without costing a lot of money. Keep in mind that the meal "swipes" in a Residential or Commuter meal plan expire at the end of each semester, and that Dining Dollars attached to a meal plan expire at the end of the Spring semester.
Alternatively, add Hound Bucks to your account. They are loaded on your student ID for ultimate convenience, can be used in any dining location, and don't expire until you leave or graduate. They can also be used over breaks and the Summer semester. The best part about Hound Bucks is that when you load them on your account, you receive a bonus of free dollars. When you load $1 - $199, you receive an automatic 10% bonus of free dollars. When you add $200 or more, you receive that 10% bonus immediately, then an additional 10% bonus in 1-3 business days - that's 20% free! Since they never expire, you can maximize your deposit by adding $200 or more each time you reload.

Note: we are CASHLESS on our campus, so please be prepared with Hound Bucks, credit, debit or Apple Pay for your payment. New stickers for the 2023-2024 school year will be issued starting 7/1/23.
Dining Dollars & Hound Bucks
Dining Dollars are a declining-balance account accepted in all Dining locations as payment. They're included in every meal plan and designed to give students flexibility when it comes to choosing meals. Dine most frequently in our Campus Restaurants, but you can supplement your meals there with meals and snacks from our retail locations with your Dining Dollars. Dining Dollars that are part of your meal plan will roll over from Fall to Spring Semester, but will then expire at the end of the academic year.
Hound Bucks are part of a declining balance account independent of a meal plan. They are now available online, at any time, so even if you don't have a meal plan, students, staff and faculty can grab some. And when you buy Hound Bucks online, you'll receive bonus dollars, free: 10% bonus when you add $20 - $199 Dining Dollars and 20% more when you buy more than $200 in Hound Bucks. Hound Bucks stay with you in your account until your balance is $0 or until you leave Moravian University (for any reason) - the dollars will be forfeited upon your departure.
- Sign in, using the same log-in you use for AMOS (Moravian email & NET ID password)
- Click on "Add Money" on the dashboard under "Hound Bucks"

- Make sure to click the "Finalize Deposit" button (after submitting credit card info) on the last screen, or funds will not be deposited.
