Food Allergy, Intolerance and Medical Dietary Needs

We want to meet one-on-one with anyone who has special dietary needs to ensure your dining experience is safe, satisfying, and social. Email our Registered Dietitian, Susan Hurd to schedule an appointment.

We encourage those with medical dietary restrictions to contact Office of Disability and Accommodation (ODA) to document and coordinate needs for dining accommodations.

The Star Student Restaurant does not serve or include peanuts or tree nuts in recipes prepared in the location and takes preventive measures to keep peanuts and tree nuts from entering the facility. To support this effort, we kindly ask that no outside food items be brought into the Star Student Restaurant. Packaged nuts, nut butters, and other products made with peanuts and nuts are available for purchase in the Blue & Grey Café, Delight’s Café, and in vending operations.

We have Simple Servings at the Star Student Restaurant in the HUB. We also offer Simple Zone at the Star. These food platforms on campus are for those with food allergies, celiac disease, gluten intolerance, and others who prefer simple food.

NutritionFARECheck Gold

In 2021, Moravian University became the first college/university in the nation to receive FARECheck Gold Certification for Simple Servings. A Gold certification means that Moravian University meets the highest standards of safety, including policy and training to prevent allergen cross- contact.
